About Me
Welcome! As the name of this site suggests, I’m a mom of three kids who works in web development. I don’t have the traditional education that many Web Developers have. After several years working as a service specialist at a medical software company, I was given the opportunity to work alongside programmers to troubleshoot issues with some new features that were being implemented. After seeing this side of the software I was hooked.
I started learning in my free time with Codecademy and Treehouse while taking care of my 1 year old. After about a year of self-learning I decided it was time to make a career move. I enrolled in General Assembly’s first Remote Web Development Immersive Program and after three months of intensive studying, I became a graduate of the program.
I began my first career shortly after as a Ruby on Rails Developer for a local agency and have been there ever since, growing my personal skill sets and raising my family along the way. Making this career shift was not an easy one, especially while juggling the responsibilities of motherhood. My hope is to share my experience and help bring some resources and knowledge to light. I want to help other mothers who want to make the shift but don’t know how they are going to achieve that yet.
